Steffan Hakanson began serving the Lord at First Baptist Church Perryton, TX as Student Minister in May 2019. He has served the Lord for over ten years in various capacities, including children's ministry, the pastorate, men's ministry, and youth. While Steffan's primary focus at this time is ministering to the church's students, he also loves preaching whenever Bro. Richard will let him.
Steffan graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Park Law Enforcement. After spending time working for the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the US National Park Service, Steffan left federal service to follow the Lord's call to full time ministry. In the process of pursuing God's call to ministry, Steffan was blessed with the opportunity to teach junior high and high school science at Hope Christian Academy in Skiatook, OK for four years. While there, he attended Liberty University Baptist Theological Seminary where he graduated in 2016 with Master of Religious Education.
Steffan has been married to his beautiful wife Rachelle since 2012, and she is an incredible part of any ministry that Steffan is involved with. Rachelle loves to share what God has shown her in scripture with students and helps keep Steffan from chasing too many rabbit trails when he is teaching. Steffan and Rachelle have four children: Charity, Cris, Steffanie, and Emberly.
Steffan loves to study scripture, and his favorite books of the bible are Genesis, Habakkuk, Ephesians, and Philippians (or whatever book he currently happens to be studying). In his spare time, Steffan loves to read, play guitar, watch the Green Bay Packers, drink Dr. Pepper and Cranberry Vanilla Limeades, go hiking, hunting, shooting, and watch The Office. Steffan says his favorite day is Wolf Wednesday.
